LCYSA Parents Code of Conduct

LCYSA Parent Code of Conduct

As a parent or guardian of a Lake Country Youth Soccer Association (LCYSA) player, I understand that I play an important role in creating a positive, safe, and supportive environment for all players, coaches, officials, and families. I agree to uphold the following expectations:

1. Support Positive Sportsmanship

  • I will encourage fair play, effort, and respect at all times—on and off the field.

  • I will applaud good plays by both teams and promote an inclusive atmosphere.

  • I will teach my child to win with humility and lose with grace.

2. Respect Coaches, Referees & Volunteers

  • I will support the decisions of coaches and referees, understanding that they are doing their best for the players.

  • I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during games and practices unless I am in an official coaching role.

  • I will treat all LCYSA volunteers with courtesy and appreciation.

3. Be a Role Model

  • I will set a good example with my behavior, language, and attitude.

  • I will not use profanity, abusive language, or aggressive behavior at any LCYSA event.

  • I will help foster a team-first attitude and encourage my child to be coachable and respectful.

4. Prioritize Player Development

  • I will remember that youth soccer is about fun, learning, and development—not just winning.

  • I will support my child in setting goals, learning teamwork, and building confidence through sport.

5. Maintain a Safe and Positive Environment

  • I will never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake.

  • I will ensure that my child arrives prepared and on time for practices and games.

  • I will communicate any concerns constructively and respectfully to club officials or coaches.

6. Respect the LCYSA Community

  • I will help create a welcoming, inclusive environment for all families.

  • I understand that LCYSA has a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, harassment, and discrimination.

  • I agree to abide by LCYSA rules and procedures for resolving conflicts or concerns.

I understand that failure to follow this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including removal from games or the program.
Together, we can build a community that helps every player grow, compete, and enjoy the beautiful game.
